Penn State Coach James Franklin Reveals Favorite Musical Artist

Who is Penn State coach James Franklin’s favorite musical artist?

The Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported that it’s a man named Shawn Corey Carter.

Most people know him as Jay-Z.

McMurphy revealed the favorites of every Big Ten coach Friday morning. This year’s Penn State team could be the best in the conference and the best Franklin’s had at Penn State. Surely, Franklin’s Squad has less than 99 problems (a running back certainly isn’t one).

Penn State has a lot of expectations placed on it after an 11-2 season that ended with the team winning the Rose Bowl and ranked No. 7.

This year, double-digit wins are expected, and Franklin might have a hard knock life ahead of him for a bit if the team underperforms.

On the other hand, if the team balls so hard, it has a solid chance of making it to the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history.

Here are the favorites for the rest of the Big Ten’s coaches.

  • Brett Bielema (Illinois)— Justin Moore
  • Kirk Ferentz (Iowa)— Pat Green
  • Tom Allen (Indiana)— MerceyMe
  • Mike Locksley (Maryland)— Citizen Cope
  • Jim Harbaugh (Michigan)— Alania Morissette
  • Mel Tucker (Michigan State)— Prince
  • PJ Fleck (Minnesota)— Chris Stapleton
  • David Braun (Northwestern)— Need to Breathe
  • Ryan Day (Ohio State)— Morgan Wallen
  • Greg Schiano (Rutgers)— Bruce Springsteen
  • Ryan Walters (Purdue)— Prince
  • Luke Fickell (Wisconsin)— Zach Bryan

Jay-Z has been to Happy Valley before, performing at the Bryce Jordan Center in Oct. 2009. His agency also represents former Penn State and current Giants HB Saquon Barkley. There will be a concert at Franklin’s home stadium next April, but it won’t be Jay-Z. Luke Combs is coming April 27.
