The 2022 Penn State football team had one of the most exciting young running backs in the nation with Nicholas Singleton.
Singleton received 156 carries for 1,061 yards, 12 touchdowns and will no doubt be the focus of the Nittany Lions offense in 2023.
On Tuesday, the Nittany Lions staff zeroed in on a player that they hope one day could eventually replace Singleton and be their top back.
Penn State running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider extended an offer to 2024 4-star running back Chauncey Bowens. The interesting angle to this offer is that Bowens has been committed to the Florida Gators since last September.
Bowens attends the Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida and is rated by Rivals.com as one of the Top 20 junior backs and one of the Top 200 overall players in the Class of 2024.

Prior to committing to Florida, Bowens (6’0″, 215-pounds) held offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Teas A&M, Central Florida and West Virginia.
Penn State isn’t the only team still pursuing this talented player as Rivals.com Adam Gorney recently wrote that “Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and Alabama are pushing” for Bowens.
2024 Signing Day is a long way off so this recruitment will no doubt get interesting over the upcoming months.
