In two playoff games this season for Medina High School, Penn State five-star quarterback commit Drew Allar has thrown for nine touchdowns and rushed for another two.
Unsurprisingly, Medina is rolling onto a regional semifinal matchup against St. Ignatius after a 45-14 win over Cleveland Heights High School on Friday night.
In Medina’s win over Cleveland Heights, Allar threw four touchdowns — all from 25 yards or longer — and added another two with his legs in yet another dominant performance this season. Allar has tossed 44 touchdowns this season and added another nine on the ground while passing roughly 3,500 yards through the air.
Drew Allar put on a ball placement clinic last night. Cleveland Heights manned up & contested almost every throw but #14 consistently placed the ball away from defensive leverage. Beautiful to watch @AllarDrew https://t.co/eeHsbTZMoN

Allar’s ascent to the peak of 247Sports’ quarterback rankings has been a season-long pursuit, and if anything, he’s only elevated his game since reaching the pinnacle of 2022 quarterbacks. With prototypical size, an arm that can make any and every throw on a football field and above-average speed for a quarterback his size, Allar should be a threat to win the Nittany Lions’ starting gig next season.
However, Allar’s high school career isn’t quite over yet. Medina will take on St. Ignatius in a battle of the No. 2 and No. 6 teams in the region at 7:30 on Friday — the location is yet to be determined.
