This is a bad PSU team, and it’s ridiculous the squad is never ready to play early in games

Penn State is the only winless team left in the Big Ten, which is unbelievable for a team that started the season No. 8 in the country.

Sure, fans can feel better about the team’s play in the second half and how backup QB Will Levis performed. But this is Penn State. This is not a program that should ever feel good — ever — after a loss of any kind when it plays so poorly in the first half.

    Cory, Fantastic review. That was a bone chilling critque of the state of this team. If Paterno was alive, he would be rolling over in his grave! I know that is an impossibility, but so was the thought that this could be the first team to start 0-5 in the history of Penn State football.
    Lets say that Micah Parsons, Journey Brown, and Noah Cain all were still playing on this team. Would that have been a difference between this 0-4 team or perhaps a 3-1 team? Quite possibly. There is absolutely no leadership currently on this team. Will Levis showed some moxie and he might light a fire under this team. McSorley, Saquon Barkely, Matt McGloin, Michael Robinson, Darryl Clark were leaders. This team needs to grow up fast. Clearly, inexperience at the linebackers is evident. Sloppy tackling lunging with their arms and too many busted coverage plays resulting in huge gains early on before they firnally make adjustments.
    We need to recruit better otherwise we will never become one of the ELITE.
    Were we realistically a Top 10 team based on this product? Absolutely NO.
    Until we start to win again, we will not recruit better….and we could very well begin to see an exodus of current recruits and/or players entering the transfer portal.

      Thank you for the kind words. I believe this PSU team would be 3-1 if Parsons, Journey and Cain were playing. Now, I still don’t know if Sean Clifford would have played a whole lot better, because I’m just not sold on him really. The big difference, though, is that the running game would have been much better, thereby allowing Clifford to feel more at ease and not have to try and do everything himself.

    Totally concur. He’s thinking too much. When he runs, he runs straight up and waiting to get blindsided. He is not that kind of a duel threat quarterback.

    Maybe Levis will light a fire and maybe just distinctly maybe, we can go on a run, finish the season 4-4, and perhaps land in a game in Big10 Championship week…..only time will tell.
