Hi, what are you looking for?

2-Minute Morning

Stick to sports? Shut up and dribble? No, not today. Make your voice heard this election day

Many people don’t like when sports mixes with politics. Sports is your escape, and when sportswriters or athletes venture into political subjects, a lot of folks respond with “stay in your lane” kind of messages.

“Stick to sports” is something me and many sportswriters have been told by readers when we discuss political topics.

“Shut up and dribble” was one thing outspoken basketball players were told in a famously offensive line.

Today is not about sticking to sports.

Today is not about shutting up and dribbling.

We face the most important election of our lives.
