In the wonderful land of odds, Penn State-USC line opened at 4.5-points in favor of PSU, per BetMGM.
As expected, that line has moved.
BetMGM now has Penn State favored by 5.5 going into Saturdayโs clash at the Coliseum.
NBCSports is projecting the line to move even further in Penn Stateโs direction, โlikely closing around -6 or -7.โ
Penn State would likely be the underdog had USC done its job this past Saturday night at Minnesota. USC came into that matchup ranked No. 11, and with four top 10 teams losing, would have been firmly in the top 10 with a win. But USC lost on a last-minute touchdown and thus isnโt ranked anywhere in the top 25.
Penn State has not done well in Vegas this season.
PSU only failed to cover the spread three times through 12 games in 2023 and has already matched that through five games this season.
Penn State was favored by 34.5 against Bowling Green in Week 2 and only won by seven.
Two weeks later, it was a 17.5-point favorite against then-No. 19 Illinois and won by 14. USC, on the other hand, is 3-2 both overall and in Vegas, with it being favored to win in its losses at Michigan and Minnesota.
Regardless of odds, Penn State and USC are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 on CBS, with the game starting at 12:30 on the west coast. CBS will have its A-team of Brad Nessler (PXP), Gary Danielson (color) and Jenny Dell (sideline) on the call.
If this goes the way Penn State footballโs last meeting against USC did, fans are in for an exciting one. That was the Rose Bowl Jan. 2, 2017. USC won, 52-49. Penn State and its fans hope for a better result.
