College GameDay Returning to Penn State

College GameDay will be back at Penn State for the first time since 2021.

As expected, College GameDay will be in Happy Valley for No. 3 Penn State football’s clash with No. 4 Ohio State Nov. 2 at noon.

This will be the first time GameDay has gone to Happy Valley since September 2021, when Penn State beat Auburn.

It makes perfect sense that it’s coming back for this one.

Two rival schools will be playing as top five opponents for just the second time in history.

The only other time took place in 1996, when No. 3 Ohio State rolled to a  38-7 win over No. 4 Penn State. Fans are expecting a much closer game this time around.

A HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT

By beating Nebraska 21-17 Oct. 26, Ohio State is now a good bet to be ranked in the top five when it plays at Penn State Saturday, Nov. 2

Penn State and Ohio State are usually ranked when they meet, if not highly. But things are even bigger this season. Ohio State started the season ranked No. 2 and has suffered only a narrow loss at Oregon. Penn State started ranked No. 8 and has moved to No. 3 its 7-0 start. The teams each took care of business this past Saturday, with Ohio State fending off Nebraska 21-17 at home and Penn State fending off Wisconsin and an injury to starting QB Drew Allar with a 28-13 win.

ALLAR’S TEARS

Penn State QB Drew Allar showed his emotions after losing at Ohio State last season.

Allar had one of, if not the worst day of his college football career at Ohio State last season. The Medina, Ohio native played in the house of his childhood team, and he didn’t deliver. He finished the day 18 of 42 for 191 yards and a touchdown, and Penn State lost. If Allar is healthy enough to play Saturday, he’ll have a chance at redemption.

For Ohio State, Will Howard, who grew up a Penn State fan and feels he was overlooked, will be starting. It will be a fun one in Happy Valley.
