All 105 is a Nittany Sorts Now series profiling each Penn State football player. In this edition, we will be taking a look at redshirt sophomore receiver, Jaden Dottin.

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 199 pounds

Hometown: Cambridge, Mass.

Before Penn State: Dottin lettered three years at the Suffield Academy in Connecticut, helping his team to a 9-0 record and Central New England Conference Title as a captain his senior year.

Dottin stood out on both sides of the ball at Suffield.

On offense, he caught 29 passes for 593 yards and six touchdowns as a junior and followed that up with 25 receptions, 468 yards and five touchdowns senior year.

Defensively, Dottin picked off five passes in 2018 and three more his senior season.

ESPN rated Dottin a four-star recruit. 247Sports and Rivals each had him as a three-star. All three sites had him as a top five player in Connecticut.

Dottin committed to Penn State in June of 2019.

2020: Dottin made his college debut in Penn State’s season finale again Illinois at Beaver Stadium.

2021: Dottin redshirted the 2021 season and played in three games.

Where he stands: Dottin hasn’t made in impact at Penn State the way fellow Class of 2020 receivers Parker Washington and KeAndre Lambert-Smith have.

Dottin will also share a receivers room with expected starters, such as Western Kentucky transfer Mitchell Tinsley,  talented reserves, like Malick Meiga, and hungry freshmen, such as Kaden Saunders.

Dottin has good height— he’s Penn State’s second tallest receiver behind the 6-foot-4 Meiga— which could make him useful in red zone situations.

It will be challenging for Dottin to make a splash in Penn State’s crowded receivers room, but the potential is there for Dottin to at least progress from his first two seasons.
