4-Star Defensive Tackle Justin Benton To Make Penn State Official Visit

One of the top defensive tackles in the country has scheduled a visit to Penn State.

2023 four-star defensive tackle Justin Benton (6’2″, 275-pounds) announced Thursday that he will make an official visit to Penn State the weekend of September 29-30.

Benton attends Newton High School in Covington, Georgia and holds a big offer list that includes Arkansas, Arizona State, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Central Florida, USC, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

This is the first official visit that this coveted defensive lineman has scheduled. Benton made a recent visit to State College for the Spring Game and made unofficial visits last season to Penn State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Florida State.

Following the commitment yesterday from three-star wide receiver Ejani Shakir, James Franklin’s program has the No. 3 ranked recruiting class per Rivals.com. Penn State has received 12 commitments: Shakir, threestar athlete Conrad Hussey,ย three-star defensive end Jameial Lyons, four-star quarterback Marcus Stokes, (four-star tight end Andrew Rappleyea, four-tar offensive lineman Jโ€™ven Williams, three-star offensive lineman Anthony Donkoh,ย three-star offensive lineman, Joshua Miller,ย three-star tight end Joey Schaffer and three-star tight end Mathias Barnwell.
