Junior forward Reese Laubach was named the Big Ten Third Star of the Week following his performances against No. 2 Michigan at Yost Ice Arena over the weekend in Ann Arbor, the conference office announced Tuesday morning.
Laubach earns his first weekly accolade of the season and the fourth of his career.
Penn State has now had eight different players earn weekly honors on 13 occasions during the 2025–26 season.
Laubach paced the Big Ten with three goals, four points, and a plus-1 rating over the weekend, registering consecutive multi-point performances.
During Friday’s game, Laubach scored the first goal of the weekend just 58 seconds into the opening period before adding the primary assist on the game-tying goal late in the third period. Penn State tied No. 2 Michigan 4–4 on Friday night before losing the extra point in the shootout.
Laubach then scored twice in Saturday’s loss, marking his second multi-goal effort of the season and the sixth of his career.
The junior has now scored in four of his last five games and recorded at least one point in seven of his last eight contests (five goals, four assists).
Laubach now ranks sixth on the team in scoring with 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) in 28 games. He is also approaching 100 career games played, currently sitting at 98.
