Penn State is welcoming back a young offensive lineman looking for his first offensive snaps in 2026.
Redshirt freshman Garrett Sexton announced that he is returning to State College next season.
Sexton posted a picture of himself walking onto the field at Beaver Stadium with a Lion 🦁 emoji on Thursday.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound lineman appeared in all 13 games while serving on special teams and as a backup tackle.
Retaining Sexton isn’t as flashy of a move as keeping linebacker Tony Rojas, tight end Andrew Rappleyea, or right tackle Anthony Donkoh, but an important one for developing the next wave of talent.
A former four-star recruit from Hartland, Wisconsin, Sexton was named the coaching staff’s Developmental Squad Offensive Player of the Week on four separate occasions as a true freshman and has the frame to be a solid player in Big Ten football.
He committed to Penn State out of high school over Iowa, Minnesota, and Oklahoma. On3 named him as the No. 1 player in Wisconsin during the class of 2024 recruiting season.
The transfer portal opened on January 2 and will remain open until January 16.
Donkoh is the only returning starter set to come back to Penn State in 2026, with the door open for Sexton and other players to seize the opportunity.
