A former Oregon defensive back trolled Penn State QB Drew Allar ahead of Saturday’s showdown at Beaver Stadium.
Dontae Manning, who now plays for the Chicago Bears, posted a picture of his interception of Allar in last season’s Big Ten Championship Game.
The caption on the photo read: “Preciate chu” and tagged Allar’s Instagram account.
Manning’s interception ended up being a big play in deciding the Big Ten Championship.
He returned it to the 1-yard line, Oregon scored to push its lead to 28-10 and Penn State never recovered, losing 45-37.
It was a significant blemish on what, overall, was one of Allar’s best college games. He ended the night 20-39 for 226 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions, with the highlight being this dime to Harrison Wallace III and the lowlight being the pick to Manning.

What Allar thinks about Manning’s post isn’t entirely clear but it is clear that he wants revenge. Allar and most of Penn State’s current team came within a few plays of winning the Big Ten, and Oregon was the team that took it from them. Beating Oregon Saturday night wouldn’t guarantee anything as far as winning the conference this season goes— Ohio State is still really good, remember— but it would be a big step for Penn State and Allar, individually.

Let’s not beat around the bush— Allar hasn’t delivered in Penn State’s biggest games. Sure, he was solid against Oregon and wasn’t bad against Ohio State last season. But in other big games— Ohio State 2023 (18-42), Michigan 2023 (10-22, 70 yards) and the Orange Bowl/College Football Playoff Semifinal against Notre Dame (12-23, 135 yards, no touchdowns and the most famous interception of his career— Allar hasn’t gotten the job done.
The good news for Drew Allar and Penn State is that he has multiple chances to change it this season, with the first being this Saturday.
A win over Oregon would put Penn State in a prime position to make it to the College Football Playoff again.
No. 3 Penn State takes on No. 6 Oregon at Beaver Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 on NBC.
