Penn State volleyball almost lost its second match as reigning national champs but ended up surviving.
No. 2 PSU fell behind No. 14 Kansas two sets to one but battled back, first with an epic 30-28 win in set four, then a 15-12 win in set five.
A kill by Caroline Jurevicius , with Zoey Stark setting it up, ended the match.
Kennedy Martin led the way with 18 kills. Emmi Sellman had 16 and Caroline Jurevicius 14. Maggie Mendelson has 13 kills as well.
Stark had 16 digs, Gillian Grimes had 12 and Emmi Sellman also had 12.
Penn State avoided the fate of in-state rival Pitt— ranked No. 3– which started its season with two losses over the weekend.
