Penn State is in position to secure one of the fast rising quarterback prospects in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
Four-star North Cobb (Kennesaw, Georgia) quarterback Teddy Jarrard announced his five finalists with Penn State being among them.
The other schools vying for the elite quarterback include Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.
Jarrard took an unofficial visit to Happy Valley on June 8 and was pleased at the foundation Franklin and quarterbacks coach Danny O’Brien have created.
“Coach (Danny) O’Brien as well as (Trace) McSorley is up there now. They along with Coach (James) Franklin have all been great with quarterbacks,” Jarrard highlighting his visit. “They’re not very transfer portal heavy which is another big thing at the quarterback position. They’re a good school that would develop me as a quarterback and I can go in and play.”
Jarrard is seen by many as a fast rising prospect after his performance last month at the Five-Star Challenge in Indianapolis. During the camp, Jarrard distinguished himself with excellent accuracy with wide receivers in 1-on-1s along with his ability to deliver touchdown drives during the competition.
Many feel Jarrard is ready to make that leap into his junior season this year at North Cobb which is why the four-star prospect is attracting a lot of blue chip attention.
The Nittany Lions will be battling Notre Dame for the services of Jarrard, as many recruiting services feel the Irish are the favorite to land him.
