In recruiting news, a Penn State quarterback target has announced his de-commitment from former PSU DC Brent Pry and the program he currently runs, Virginia Tech.
Itโs Peyton Falzone, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound in-state QB from Nazareth High School.
Falzone committed to Virginia Tech in late June but he was at Penn Stateโs game against Ohio State Nov. 2.
Two weeks later, he got offered by Wisconsin, and this weekend, heโll be at Ohio State for its annual rivalry game against Michigan in Columbus.
Falzone is the 195th ranked overall player, the No. 16 quarterback and the No. 5 player in Pennsylvania per 247Sports.
THE STATEMENT
โAfter deep thought and consideration, Iโve made the difficult decision to de-commit from Virginia Tech at this time. From day one, my family and I were treated with love and respect by the entire staff at Virginia Tech. I am deeply thankful for Coach Pry, Coach (Tyler) Bowen and everyone in the Hokie family who believed in me and supported my development. Iโll always have great respect and love for Blacksburg and the Hokies. Reflecting on discussions with my family, I felt it was necessary to make this change. It didnโt feel right to be visiting other schools while being locked in with Virginia Tech.

FALZONE AND PENN STATE
Penn State was the second Power Four school to offer Falzone, doing so June 9, five days after Virginia Tech.
Nittany Sports Now talked with Falzone about his recruitment soon after.
PSU fans will recognize Falzoneโs Alma Mater as the same high school Penn State legend Jahan Dotson attended.
Falzone got to know Dotson personally.
This offer definitely means a little bit more,โ ย Falzone told NSN. โI grew up watching Penn State, it would be a crazy program to play for, so Iโm very blessed to receive this opportunity. Virginia Tech is also an amazing school, too, though, so I feel very blessed to be receiving these opportunities.
Falzone is no stranger to Penn State home games.
โTrace McSorley was my guy,โ he said. โMy dad and I would come up to games and watch him because he was so much fun. I was also a fan of Jahan Dotson, whoโs actually from my high school. He had a great career there and is obviously playing now for the Washington Commanders (heโs since moved on to the Philadelphia Eagles). I loved being around him. I was a ball boy for the high school team when he was playing and then to be able to watch him play at Penn State was pretty special.โ
Penn State currently has seven players committed in its 2026 recruiting class of them, four-star Troy Huhn, is also a quarterback.
