Despite currently having 25 commitments, Penn State football is still working to add more players to its Class of 2025.
Over the weekend, the Penn State staff extended an offer to a talented defensive lineman that’s currently committed to another program.
Per his high school coaches, 2025 3-star defensive end Ryshawn Perry received an offer from Penn State. The 6’3″, 275-pound end from Newton High School in Covington, Georgia is currently committed to Central Florida.

Prior to committing to Central Florida in Apri, Perry also held offers from Auburn, Duke, Georgia Tech, Houston, Indiana, LSU, Maryland, Ole Miss, NC State, Oklahoma, Pitt and Vanderbilt. In 2023, Perry was named the Georgia Region 4-7A Defensive Player of the Year.
Aside from offering a 2025 player this late in the recruiting calendar, this is an interesting offer when you take a look at Penn State’s current Class of 2025.
Currently, Penn State football has commitments from five defensive lineman: 4-star DE Yvan Kemajou (Burtonsville, Maryland), 4-star DT Randy Adirika (Miami, Florida), 3-star DE LaVar Arrington II (Covina, California), 4-star DE Jayden Woods (Shawnee, Kansas) and 3-star DE Cortez Harris (Upper Marlboro, Maryland).
In other Penn State recruiting news, 2026 4-star safety Matt Siegannounced on social media his commitment to the Nittany Lions. The 4-star athlete is currently the No. 187th ranked player in the country by Rivals.com and the No. 5 prospect in Pennsylvania.
Sieg already becomes the 7th commitment for Penn Stateโs Class of 2026, which now has a Team Ranking of No. 3. This recruiting class is already filled with plenty of big names, including 4-star offensive tackle Kevin Brown(Harrisburg, PA), 4-star QB Troy Huhn (San Marcos, California) and 4-star running back Messiah Mickens (Harrisburg, PA).
Nittany Sports Now will work to find out more about this offer and if Perry has any future plans to make an in-person visit to Penn State.
