Penn State wrestling legend David Taylor has a big task ahead of him.

The program he helped build and remained around for a decade after his graduation with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club is not only on top of the wrestling world but is the most successful operation in college sports.

In his new job as Oklahoma State’s coach, Taylor’s goal is to get OSU to that level, which won’t happen overnight.

But in his first two months, “The Magic Man” is putting in work.

Taylor got All-American heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson to transfer from Air Force and Cam Amine from Oklahoma State, which should make an immediate impact.

On Tuesday, Taylor got a commitment from a guy who could be a huge part of the future.

Landon Robideau, the No. 2 Class of 2025 wrestler at 150, has flipped from Minnesota to Oklahoma State.

Robideau is the No. 19 overall wrestler in his class per FloWrestling.

This is an impressive flip not just because of Robideau’s talent but because Robideau is from Minnesota and had been committed since 2022. He’s won state championships in his first three seasons, all at different weight classes, with his first one coming at 126 and his most recent at 152, competing for St. Michael-Albertville in Albertville. He also broke Minnesota’s single-season takedown record last season.

Oklahoma State now has five wrestlers in Flo’s top 60 committed to its 2025 class, led by Ladarion Lockett, who ranks No. 3 overall.

But Penn State wrestling, as always, has a strong class as well, led by No. 1 pound-for-pond wrestler PJ Duke.
