NSN Staff Predictions: Will Penn State Keep it Rolling at Northwestern?

Abdul Carter and the Nittany Lions sing the Penn State alma mater following their 31-0 win over Iowa.

Penn State has had little issue starting 4-0 this season.

The team’s won its four games by an average of nearly 32 points.

Last week’s 31-0 drubbing of then-No. 24 Iowa 24 Iowa in White Out conditions at Beaver Stadium was convincing.

Penn State has another shot to impress this week at Northwestern. Here’s what NSN’s staff expects to happen.

Jarrod Prugar, Nittany Sports Now: Penn State needs to start hot. The team hasn’t quite exploded on offense yet, but it’s due. A defensive repeat from last week is nearly impossible, but it should still be a dominant performance

PSU 42, Northwestern 10

Brad Rosemas, Nittany Sports Now: Penn State has won nine straight games by 14 or more points. No other team in the FBS has had a streak longer than six in the past two years. Saturday, the number climbs to 10 in a row.

PSU 38, Northwestern 10

Ethan Ronan, Nittany Sports Now: I think Penn State efficiently handles Northwestern but with a few hiccups. Although PSU won’t run up the score, the defense will keep the game in cruise control.

PSU 31, Northwestern 14

Brandon Walker, Nittany Sports Now: Northwestern has got off to a relatively good start considering its program’s turmoil this summer. Interim head coach David Braun has his players playing hard for him, as evidenced by the team’s 21 point comeback against Minnesota. But Penn State has the better horses in this race. Although it will be closer early, Penn State will impose its dominance with a combined 200 yards between Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton. I also foresee a defensive touchdown as they will cruise into its bye week.

PSU 41, NW 13

Alex Shaffer, The Nittany Pod PSU 45, Northwestern 7

TK, The Nittany Pod: PSU 45, Northwestern 10

Aaron Pearson, The Nittany Pod: PSU 39, Northwestern 3

Joe Smeltzer, Nittany Sports Now: Expect another bloodbath. Expect Nick Singleton or Kaytron Allen (maybe even both 👀👀👀) to eclipse 100 yards. Expect some explosive plays, for those who are craving them. Expect a blowout.

PSU 44, Northwestern 6
