To the surprise of not many, Penn State wrestling is your 2023 Big Ten regular-season champion.

Penn State thrashed Maryland 44-3 Sunday to clinch the Big Ten regular season crown. It’s the ninth time the school has won or shared the conference title, and all nine have been under the direction of Cael Sanderson, who became head coach in 2009.

The team (15-0, 8-0 Big Ten) has one more regular-season dual meet, a non-conference bout scheduled for next Sunday at 1 against Clarion at Rec Hall.

After that, the team will focus on the Big Ten Championships, which are scheduled for March 4-5 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Here’s how the people of Twitter reacted to another conference championship for Penn State wrestling.
