PSU Punter Barney Amor Named to Ray’s 8 for Week 1

Penn State (1-0, 1-0 Big Ten) punter Barney Amor has been named to Ray’s Eight for week one, a list of eight punters on their Ray Guy Award watch list that could be named their “Guy” of the week. The Ray Guy Award is presented to the nation’s top punter at the end of the season by the Augusta Sports Council.

Amor had eight punts in Penn State’s 35-31 victory over Purdue (0-1, 0-1 Big Ten) last Thursday for their season and Big Ten opening game. His eight punts traveled for 375 yards, a 46.9 yards per punt average.

Fans can vote for who they think should be the “Guy” of the week on the award’s website. Named to the list alongside Amor are Michigan State’s Bryce Baringer, Old Dominion’s Ethan Duane, Rutgers’ Adam Korsak, South Carolina’s Kai Kroger, Texas Tech’s Austin McNamara, Virginia Tech’s Peter Moore and Iowa’s Tory Taylor.
