An ACL injury that was initially thought to be an MCL injury suffered in Sunday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints will keep Godwin sidelined for the rest of 2021, Bucs coach Bruce Arians revealed Monday.
Godwin will end his season just two catches shy of 100 for the year, with 1,103 yards and five touchdowns. He is set to enter free agency after the season. Godwin played under the franchise tag throughout 2021, making a base salary of $15.9 million.
Before coming to Tampa as a third-round pick in 2017, Godwin played for Penn State from 2014-16, breaking 1,000 yards in his junior season and helping Penn State to a Big Ten championship before going pro.
