The Penn State men’s hockey team will get back to playing a full schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
With troubles caused by COVID-19, the Nittany Lions were forced to play an abbreviated schedule last season but they’ll be back on the ice playing a full 35-game schedule this year.
Penn State will start the season at home as they take on Long Island on October 3rd and 4th. These are the first of twenty games that will be played at the Pegula Ice Arena.
The Nittany Lions will remain home for their next two matchups as they’ll host Canisius on October 8-9 and then Niagara on October 21-22.
Following those contests, Penn State is on the road as they’ll take on one of the top programs in Division I hockey. PSU and North Dakota will square-off in the 2021 Hockey Hall of Fame Game at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Saturday, October 30. This game was supposed to take place last year but was postponed due to COVID-19. North Dakota has won eight national championships, just one behind all-time leader Michigan, who has nine.
Penn State opens up Big Ten play in Columbus on November 5th and 6th when they take on Ohio State. Their first conference home game will take place on November 11th against Michigan.
