Penn State hired Iowa State General Manager Derek Hoodjer to the same position and is the program’s first GM.
On Thursday, Hoodjer hired an assistant. According to Chris Hummer of 247Sports and CBS Sports, Penn State is adding Cincinnati Director of Player Personnel Jack Griffith as its Assistant General Manager.
Griffith worked in the role for three years with the Bearcats, navigating the transfer portal and signing players.
Griffith worked in the New York Jets scouting department in 2022. He previously worked at Ohio State as a program assistant. He played college ball at Marist University in New York and is considered a fast riser in the industry. Griffith is originally from Akron, Ohio.
Penn State has the difficult task of roster retention and acquiring players through the portal and high school players in the second wave of signing day.
This pairs with many impactful departing seniors, including Drew Allar, Nick Singleton, Kaytron Allen, Dani Dennis-Sutton, and Zakee Wheatley,
