Name, image and likeness (NIL) is now a crucial aspect for any college athletics program.
Bottom line is that if your NIL team and support isn’t strong, you’ll have a very difficult time attracting recruits, which in turn will make it very difficult to compete.
Penn State has one of the best wrestling programs in the country and on Monday, they made a move that make it even stronger.
Nittany Lions head wrestling coach Cael Sanderson has hired former Penn State wrestler Clay Steadman was the programs first name, image and likeness director.
Steadman comes back to Penn State after having worked in various finance-related roles, at Siemens Healthineers and most recently as Strategic Account Director at Phillips.

Steadman is a graduate of General McClane High School and then joined the Penn State wrestling team in 2007-08. Due to an injury, his wrestling career ended following the 2010-11 season.
He returns now with the task of providing support for NIL fundraising, developing and strengthening relationships with potential donors and being on top of all-things NIL for Penn State wrestling.
