It will be almost a month before Penn State and Ole Miss play in the Peach Bowl.
But early betting lines are out.
Penn State is a 2.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
PSU had another solid regular season in 2023.
Although many expected this team to make it to the College Football Playoff, the team went 10-2 for the fifth time on in the past eight seasons and the second year in a row. Since the start of the 2022 season, Penn State’s 21-0 against teams that aren’t Ohio State or Michigan. Unfortunately, those two were that games people watched the most in 2022.
Ohio State beat Penn State 20–12 in Columbus Oct. 21.
Michigan got a 24-15 win in Happy Valley three weeks later.
Team Harbaugh is No. 1 in the country entering its third straight College Football Playoff after beating Iowa for its third straight Big Ten championship Saturday night in Indianapolis. A week before that, Michigan beat Ohio State 30-24 in one of the most thrilling editions of “The Game.” Ohio State will now play Missouri in the Cotton Bowl classic, scheduled for Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. in Dallas.
Like Penn State, coach Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss also finished the season 10-2. Also like Penn State, Ole Miss’ two losses were to a team in the College Football Playoff (Alabama) and a team that was one win away from making the playoff (Georgia.)
This will be the first time Penn State and Ole Miss have ever played.
Franklin’s 0-3 against SEC teams in bowl games, losing to Georgia (2015 season), Kentucky (2018) and Arkansas (2021). Penn State will hope for a different result this time, playing in SEC country.
