The 2023 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is officially sold out. No. 10 Penn State will face No. 11 Ole Miss in a battle between Big Ten and SEC opponents in Atlanta at Mercedes Benz Stadium. The complex is home to the Atlanta Falcons and SEC Championship Game. It marks the first-ever meeting between Ole Miss and PSU.

It’s the 24th sellout in the past 27 Peach Bowls. The Georgia Dome used to host the annual New Year’s Six bowl game before being shifted to Mercedes Benz Stadium.
“Fans are excited to see the Rebels and Nittany Lions face off for the first time in what is shaping up to be one of the best matchups this Bowl Season between a top-20 offense at Ole Miss vs. the nation’s top defense with Penn State,” Peach Bowl CEO and president Gary Stokan said.
The Peach Bowl began in 1968 and drew a record 79,330 fans last season to watch Georgia beat Ohio State, 42-41, as the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve in the 2023 College Football Playoff semifinal. Penn State looks for better fortune against an SEC opponent than its Big Ten rival.
With a win, Penn State would become the first team in college football history to win all six New Year’s Six games.
PSU played its first bowl game 100 years ago Jan. 1, 1923, in the Granddaddy of Them All. USC defeated PSU 14-3. PSU tied SMU in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 1, 1948, during its next bowl appearance.
