Belgrave-Shorter chose Penn State over Miami and UCF.
Belgrave-Shorter made his commitment nine days after he made an unofficial visit to Penn State. His Mandarin High School teammate Jon Mitchell committed to the school during the visit.
Belgrave-Shorter (6-foot-0, 180-pounds) is the No. 47 cornerback and the No. 74 overall recruit in Florida according to 257Sports. He recorded 33 tackles (22 solo), six pass breakups, three interceptions last season as Mandarin made the Florida 5A State playoffs.
In an interview with Tyler Calvaruso of 247Sports Belgrave-Shorter spoke about scheme fit and how he can learn and develop under cornerbacks coach Terry Smith.
“It looked like I can fit right into the system,” Belgrave-Shorter said.
“(Coach Smith) talked about he can develop me on and off the field and how the staff treats you like their own child. I like him overall. He is a pretty genuine guy that wants to work.”
With Belgrave-Shorter’s commitment he joins Mitchell and Kenneth Woseley in the cornerback room in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
