Four-star Class of 2024 tight end Caleb Odom is taking his official visit to Penn State June 10-11, Jeremy Johnson of On3Sports reported.

Odom (6-foot-6, 215 pounds) is a MaxPreps All-American from Carrollton High School in Georgia.

This past season, Odom put himself on the recruiting map.

He picked up 1,112 yards and 11 yards on 64 catches. Odom helped his team the state championship game.

Although Odom hasn’t taken an unofficial visit yet, Penn State is the first school he’s scheduled an official visit to.

Coach James Franklin’s program offered Odom in November. He also offers from schools such as Auburn, Boston College, Colorado, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Purdue, Texas A&M, UCF, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Plenty of those offers came during or after Odom’s big year.

Of all the schools Odom has to choose from, Odom told On3Sports that Penn State is “very high on my list right now.” He cited his expereinces with tight ends coach Ty Howle as a factor.

“Me and coach Howle have a great relationship,” Odom told On3. “I can’t wait to get up and meet coach Franklin.”

Penn State has a promising group of tight ends singed to its 2023 class. Mega Barnwell (Fredericksburg, Virginia), Andrew Rappleyea (Millbrook, New York) and Joey Schaffer (Reading, Pennsylvania) are all four stars who signed in December.

Penn State’s ’23 class got a late gift from Georgia. Three-star running back Cam Wallace (Mt. Vernon), committed two days before signing day.

As for the ’24 class, Penn State is in the running for tight end Max LeBlanc.LeBlanc has Penn State in his top eight. Penn State has two ’24 players committed, OL Cooper Cousins (McDowell High School) and LB Anthony Speca (Pittsburgh Central Catholic).
