Penn State won last week.
But it hardly made a statement against Central Michigan.
The team looked sluggish at times and didn’t cover the spread in its 33-14 win.
The good news for Penn State and its fans is that the team is still undefeated, and is a again massive favorite heading into its Week 5 matchup with Northwestern at Beaver Stadium.
Pat Fitzgerald’s team is 1-3 this year with its lone win coming against lowly Nebraska. Northwestern can’t blame its poor start on a tough schedule, either. It’s three losses, in order, are to Duke, Southern Illinois and Miami of Ohio, all at home.
Like with Central Michigan last week, the question seems to be not if Penn State— a 25.5-point favorite according to FanDuel Sportsbook— will win, but how much it will win by and how it will look doing it.
