Penn State is in the running along with Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Miami, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Penn State offered Agard in February of 2021 when he was still a freshman.
Last season, Agard (6-feet, 173 pounds), helped St. Joe’s to an 11-3 record and the the PIAA state championship game, where it fell to Mt. Lebanon. 247Sports’ composite rankings have Agard as the No. 137 overall player and No. 14 cornerback in the country, as well as the No. 3 overall player in Pennsylvania from his class.
247’s site rankings have him as ranked 75th overall and as the nation’s seventh best corner and the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania, behind Belle Vernon star Quinton Martin, who is also a Penn State target.
Penn State only has one commit from the 2024 class thus far, that being Cooper Cousins, a four-star offensive lineman from McDowell High School.
From the Class of 2023, Penn State has five defensive backs committed; Elliot Washington, Lamont Payne, King Mack, DaKaari Nelson and Conrad Hussey. Of those five, all but Payne are listed as safeties on 247, although Washington projects to be a corner at the college level.
