Penn State target Kaveion Keys, a four-star recruit out of Richmond, Virginia, announced that he will announce his commitment Monday.
Penn State is in the running with North Carolina, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. Keys is the number five recruit in Virginia, the No. 25 linebacker, and the No. 319 player nationally according to 247Sports composite ratings.
Keys made an official visit to Penn State the weekend of June 24. He also made official visits to North Carolina and Virginia Tech and plans to visit Texas A&M Sept. 10.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Keys has snaps at multiple positions in high school, including wide receiver.
He spoke to Brian Dohn of 247Sports about Penn State when he talked about his top four choices of schools.
“Coach (James) Franklin is a real (good) coach and is determined to win, and he wants to bring the best out of you,” Keys said. “I have a good relationship with (defensive coordinator and linebackers coach) Manny Diaz, and I have a good relationship with the commits, too.
In particular, Keys is close with the two linebacker commits in Penn State’s 2023 class, four-stars Ta’Mere Robinson and Tony Rojas.
“We talk every day,” Keys said. “We are texting with each other. That’s what ii like about Penn State.”
If Penn State were to land Keys, he would join Robinson and Rojas in the linebacker room in the 2023 recruiting class.
