Report: Penn State Lineman Saleem Wormley Lost For the Season

Photo by Penn State Athletics: James Franklin

The Penn State offensive line is down one man for the rest of the season.

Sean Fitz of Lions247 is reporting that Saleem Wormley suffered an injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the 2021 season. At the start of camp, the redshirt sophomore was fighting for the left guard position with Anthony Whigan, Eric Wilson and Des Holmes, but then injured himself late in camp. Fitz reports that due to his strong performance, Wormley was the likely start at guard until suffering the injury.

For the last two games, Wilson has been the starter at left guard, replacing Whigan, who started the season but was replaced by the Harvard transfer.

Wormley (6-foot-3, 310 pounds) was a 2019 4-star recruit from Smyrna, Delaware. Last season, he appeared in three games and played mostly on special teams.
