While it’s Gameday for the Penn State football program, the Nittany Lions basketball team is making news for landing a big commitment.
2022 4-star forward Kebba Njie announced on Saturday that his commitment to Micah Shrewsberry and Penn State. The 6-foot-9, 200 pound forward is the 4th commitment for Penn State’s Class of 2022 and is their first big man. Two days ago, the native of LaPorte, Indiana announced his three finalists were Penn State, Kansas State and Butler.

According to Rivals.com, Njie is ranked as the No. 147 player in the country, which is the highest rated recruit in this year’s PSU class. 3-star point guard Jameel Brown (Haverford, Pennsylvania) was their previous top commitment, as he’s ranked just behind Njie at No. 148.
The fact that got this commitment is a credit to the Shrewsberry and his assistants because they didn’t formally extend him an offer until mid-August. However, Njie made an official visit to Penn State last weekend, which played a huge part in his decision.
Now all eyes will be on 2022 5-star center Derek Lively, who will announce his decision on Monday and Penn State is one of his finalists.
