Penn State women’s basketball junior transfer from Nebraska, Petra Bozan, is turning heads in Lithuania.
Bozan is representing her home country of Croatia in the 2026 FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket.
Yesterday against Israel, she broke the all-time tournament record of hauling down 28 rebounds in a single game.
Bozan also tied the tournament record in player efficiency with a 48 Player Efficiency Rating (PER). The PER is the most widely used composite basketball statistic to measure a player’s overall per-minute productivity.
The 6′-3″ forward/center comes to State College after spending the last two seasons at Nebraska. Last season as a sophomore, Bozan averaged 6.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 51.1% from the field and starting in 19 of the 32 games.

When Bozan signed with the Lady Lions in May, head coach Tanisha Wright had this to say about the Split, Croatia native: “Players like Petra don’t come around often. Her skill set as a post is exceptional and we’re confident she’ll showcase her versatility while having a significant impact as an integral part of our Lady Lion Program.”
Bozan is a welcomed addition to the Lady Lions who lost 6′-6” senior center, Gracie Merkle, to the portal when she transferred to Minnesota in April.
Bozan’s next game in the European basketball championship tournament is tomorrow against the defending champions of Spain.
