In recruiting news, Penn State has added a Class of 2026 defensive lineman from Delaware to its class.
Not long after receiving an offer from Penn State, Isaac Chukwurah, a three-star from Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware, announced his commitment early Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the continuation of a successful stretch for Penn State.
This past Friday, Demathaโs Darrell Carey announced his commitment. Now, Chukwurah is joining the party. Along with Penn State, he has offers from schools such as Boston College, South Florida Temple, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest in the recruiting game. He had official visits scheduled for Boston College (June 13-15) and Virginia Tech (June 6-8) which will presumably be off the table now.
Chukwurah explained the recruitment process to On3Sports.
โThey wanted to match my film to my [testing] numbers to see how athletic I am at this size,โ Chukwurah said. โSo, Coach Franklin gave me and my trainer a virtual combine to complete when I got back [from my first visit]. They used to give this out during COVID. When I got back, I got that done asap and that definitely helped me get the offer, 100 percent.โ
Chukwurah said that, even before the offer, he knew he had impressed Penn Stateโs coaching staff.
โI knew there was a chance that Iโd get the offer because Coach Franklin and Coach Deion (Barnes) have shown a lot of interest,โ he said. โThey really got to the point as soon as I got to [Franklinโs] office, since I was just there a week or two ago. They just reiterated how much they like me, my film and my combine numbers. After that, Coach Franklin extended the offer.โ
