Odds: Penn State Colossal Early Favorite Over UCLA

The early odds are in and as expected, Penn State is a massive favorite over UCLA next week.

PSU is 4-0, ranked No. 9 in the AP Poll and that figures to move up later Sunday thanks to losses by Ole Miss (No. 6) and Georgia (No. 2).

UCLA is 1-3 with blowout losses to Indiana and Oregon, plus a 17-point loss at LSU.

This game could get ugly for first-year coach DeShaun Foster and company, and Vegas knows it. That’s why the odds have Penn State -28.5 according to FanDual Sportsbook. Penn State is 4-0 overall but just 2-2 against spread, failing to cover against Bowling Green (won by seven, favored by 34.5), and Illinois (favored by 17.5, won by 14).

As expected, Penn State football’s game against UCLA scheduled for Noon on Fox Oct. 5 will be the destination for Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff pregame show.

This past Monday, it was confirmed that PSU-UCLA would kickoff at noon on Fox.

When that was announced, most fans had a good idea that Fox’s pregame show would be coming to Happy Valley.

That ended up being confirmed Saturday afternoon via Fox on social media. It will be the first time Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff show has been to Happy Valley since last November when it took on Michigan. This game is expected to go better for Penn State than that one did.

This will be the first time Penn State and UCLA have played since 1968, when Penn State won, 21-6 at the Rose Bowl. UCLA leads the lifetime series, 4-2, with all games taking place consecutively from 1963 to 1968. Penn State went undefeated in ‘68 and is looking to do the same in ‘24.
