Penn State has the opportunity today to add another talented player to their already impressive Class of 2025.
4-star wide receiver Lex Cyrus, from Susquehanna Township High School in Harrisburg, plans on announcing his college decision in a ceremony at his high school.
This afternoon at 3:00, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound wide receiver will be deciding between Penn State and South Carolina.
I will be committing Thursday July 11th at 3:00pm @ Susquehanna Township High School! @5KeepitR_E_A_L @SportsByBLinder @BrianDohn247 @RyanSnyderOn3 @EdOBrienCFB @RivalsFriedman pic.twitter.com/lKmAGHxZwW

Cyrus has been on Penn State’s radar for a while. The school offered him in June 2023. Since then, he’s visited Beaver Stadium for two games— against Iowa Sept. 23 and Michigan Nov. 11– and, most recently, took his official visit the last weekend of May. He took his South Carolina OV the next weekend, and those two schools were the only ones he visited on that school’s dime.
Along with Penn State and South Carolina, Cyrus received other offers from Auburn, Duke, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Football isn’t the only sport Cyrus excels at.
He’s also a state champion in track— speed is a good quality for a receiver to have—, winning the PA 3A 100-meter title as a sophomore, clocking in at 10.67. His season-best time that yeah in the 100-meter was 10.45, and his best in the 200 was 21.64.
This would be a big commitment for Penn State for a number of reasons— the main ones being Cyrus talent and the programs struggles at receiver, which plagued the team in 2023 and are the No. 1 concern for many fans in 2024.
Coming into today, Penn State has received commitments from two other wide receivers: 4-star Jeff Exinor, Jr. from Owings Mills, Maryland and 3-star Lyrick Samuel from Brooklyn, New York.
If Penn State is successful in landing Cyrus, he would become the 7th player from Pennsylvania in their Class of 2025.
