Legendary Penn State quarterback Kerry Collins will be alongside Nittany Lions captains for the pre-game coin toss Saturday afternoon as an honorary captain the Peach Bowl announced Tuesday afternoon.

Collins and former Ole Miss wide receiver Donte Moncrief will be on the field at the Peach Bowl for their respective alma maters.

At Penn State, Collins had a Hall of Fame career that spanned from 1991-1994 and took the Nittany Lions from an independent school to being a front-runner in the Big Ten. He guided his teams to a 40-9 record including a 12-0 season in 1994.

Though it’s been 30 years since Collins donned the blue and white, he still holds a multitude of records for the Nittany Lions including single-season completion percentage (66.7) and passing efficiency (172.9). Those were among the nine he broke during the 1994 season in which Penn State led the nation in scoring and total offense.

For his college career, Collins finished with 5,304 passing yards and 39 touchdowns. After his time with the Nittany Lions, he was the first player ever drafted by the Carolina Panthers who took him No. 5 overall in the 1995 NFL Draft.
