Everybody knows that PSU left tackle Olu Fashanu has great odds to be selected in the first round of next spring’s NFL Draft.

The big questions are; where will be picked, and who will take him?

We won’t know the answer to either of those questions until late April 2024 but at least one outlet has Fashanu as among to best bets to go first overall.

Accoridng to BetOnline.ag, Fashanu is tied for having the fourth-best odds to be the first named called. At 25/1, Fashanu has the same odds as Notre Dame OL Joe Alt and Alabama DB Kool-Aid McKinstry. Ahead of Fashanu are USC QB and reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams (-300), UNC QB Drake Maye (4/1) and Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (8/1).

Harrison is the only player with a better chance at being the first non-QB selected than Fashanu. It seems to be almost a lock that the NFL Hall of Famer’s son is either the first overall pick if Williams, Maye or any other QB isn’t. Harrison’s odds of being the first non-QB selected are 1/1.

The PSU star has the next highest odds at +375, followed by Alt at 5/1. McKinstry is in a three-way tie for the next best odds along with teammate and linebacker Dallas Turner and Georgia TE Brock Bowers.

Before Fashanu can worry too much about when he’ll be drafted and where he’ll play, he has to get through the 2023 college football season. This year could be a big one for Penn State. The team returns Fashanu and most of the other key contributors from last year’s squad, which finished 11-2 and won the Rose Bowl.
