A key Penn State target has set his commitment date.
Jaylan Hornsby, a four-star Class of 2024 WR from Winslow Township High School in Atco, New Jersey, is announcing his commitment July 1 at 4 and is choosing between Penn State and Texas A&M.
He tweeted this Friday afternoon.

247Sports’ composite rankings have Hornsby as the No. 6 overall player in New Jersey, the No. 57 receiver in the country and the No. 375 overall player.
Penn State already has a ‘24 commit from New Jersey. Irvington’s Vabou Toure, a four-star safety, announced his commitment Friday, June 16.
There’s reason to believe that Hornsby could follow.
His head coach, Bill Belton, was a running back at Penn State, and Belton’s quarterback for two seasons, Christian Hackenberg, is Winslow’s offensive coordinator. With that said, Texas A&M appears to be the heavy favorite. All five of 247Sports’ Crystal Ball projections have Hornsby becoming an Aggie.
Hornsby took his official visit to Penn State on the first weekend of June. Since then, the team has received a commitment from an in-state receiver in Roman Catholic’s Tyseer Denmark. Denmark had been committed to Oregon from Thanksgiving Day through Sunday, June 18. He announced his de-commitment the same weekend he went on an official visit to Penn State that surprised fans.
A pair of receivers could be joining Denmark. Three-star Peter Gonzalez (Pittsburgh) and four-star Josiah Brown (Hicksville, New York) are announcing their decisions tonight, and both are projected to pick Penn State. Gonzalez is the son of former Pitt QB Pete Gonzalez, but Pitt didn’t make his top three. Gonzalez is choosing between Penn State, Miami and Virginia Tech. It could be a fun Friday for Penn State fans.
