The 6-foot, 185-pounder committed to Penn State a little more than a week after his teammate and fellow defensive back, four-star Jon Mitchell, announced his commitment to PSU.
Belgrave-Shorter made his commitment nine days after he made an unofficial visit to Penn State, the same day Mitchell made the same visit.
Belgrave-Shorter is the 56th ranked corner back in the country from his class and the No. 90 overall ‘24 player in Florida. He has an official visit to Penn State scheduled for the weekend of June 9.
Since committing, Belgrave-Shorter has received offers Eastern Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Florida A&M, Iowa and South Florida. Before committing, Belgrade-Shorter received offers from schools such as Duke, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Pitt, South Carolina, UCF, USF and Wisconsin.
Belgrave-Shorter narrowed his choices down to three, with Penn State winning out over in-state schools Miami and UCF.
In an interview with Tyler Calvaruso of 247Sports Belgrave-Shorter spoke about scheme fit and how he can learn and develop under cornerbacks coach Terry Smith.
“It looked like I can fit right into the system,” Belgrave-Shorter said.
“(Coach Smith) talked about he can develop me on and off the field and how the staff treats you like their own child. I like him overall. He is a pretty genuine guy that wants to work.”
Smith and Penn State football currently have three cornerbacks committed to the 2024 recruiting class, with Kenneth Woseley joined by Mitchell and Belgrave-Shorter.
