Ricky Knight III is no longer taking an official visit to Penn State taking an official visit to Penn State, he tweeted Wednesday night.
As of right now these are all of the official visit dates that I have set up (I am no longer attending Penn State).
Illinois💙🧡: June 9-11
Florida State❤️💛: June 15-17
Miami🧡💚: June 23-25— Ricky Knight III 4⭐️ ATH (@Knight6Ricky) May 18, 2023
He’s visiting Illinois (June 9-11), Florida State (June 15-17) and Miami (June 23-25).
Knight, a four-star Class of 2024 cornerback out of The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida, was initially scheduled to take his Penn State OV June 2-4, but that’s no longer part of the plan.
Penn State offered Knight this past January.
He also has offers from schools such as Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Louisville, Miami, Minnesota, Pitt, Texas A&M, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.
Knight’s had a solid 2023 despite the season being months away. He earned a spot on the 247Sports All-Combine team at January’s National Combine, which was a launching pad for his recruitment.
He got his first offer from Florida State afterward, and the offers have been piling up since.
In 2022, Knight played both cornerback and wide receiver, making 33 tackles, having an interception defensively and catching four passes for 92 yards.
Despite Knight not visiting, Penn State received some great official visit news earlier this week. On Tuesday, news broke that Class of 2024 five-star wide receiver and Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith from Chaminade-Madonna Prep School in Opa Locka, Florida, plans to make an official visit to Penn State the weekend of June 16. Smith (6-foot-3, 198-pounds) is the No. 2 overall prospect in the country, the top wide receiver, and the top player in Florida, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
Smith, a cousin of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, committed to Ohio State Dec. 14. But he’s still visiting other schools, such as Georgia the weekend of May 19, Florida the weekend of June 2, and Ohio State the weekend of June 9.
