Penn State and Michigan will kickoff at noon on Fox Oct. 15.

Both teams are currently 5-0 overall, 2-0 in the Big Ten and in the top 10 nationally.

Penn State is No. 10 in the AP Poll and Michigan is No. 4. Penn State has conference wins at Purdue and at home against Northwestern, the latter of which coming this past Saturday.

This will be Penn State’s first appearance at “The Big House” with a full crowd since 2018. Penn State won in Ann Arbor in 2020, but that was during the pandemic-themed season and wasn’t played before any fans.

Penn State is arguably Michigan’s biggest home opponent this season and certainly is rankings-wise. Michigan does have in-state rival Michigan State coming Oct. 29, but its annual rivalry game with Ohio State is set to be in Columbus this season.

The Penn State game will also be Michigan’s annual Maize Out.

Michigan leads the all-time series 15-10, with the first meeting between the two teams coming in 1993, which was Penn State’s first year in the Big Ten. Since James Franklin became Penn State’s coach in 2014, Penn State is 3-5, with seven of those meetings coming against Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.

In the most recent meeting, the Wolverines escaped with a 21-17 win at Beaver Stadium. Three weeks later, Michigan won its first Big Ten championship since 2006, and nearly four weeks after that, Michigan played in its first-ever College Football Playoff game, losing to Georgia.

This is Penn State’s first “Big Noon Kickoff” game of 2022, and it likely won’t be the only one. Ohio State comes to Beaver Stadium two weeks after the Michigan game, and that game will be on Fox.

With a World Series game scheduled on the network that night, its a good bet that Penn State-Ohio State will be at noon.
