Desmond Howard, who complimented Penn State freshman running back Nick Singleton earlier in the episode, sees Penn State winning a “defensive struggle,” with Singleton playing a big role.
“I think Nick Singleton’s going to be the difference,” Howard said. “I’m going Penn State.”
Pat McAfee, who previously praised Penn State’s Joey Porter Jr., also likes Penn State.
“Look for Joey Porter Jr. to have fingerprints on this game all night,” McAfee said.
Combs, who was this week’s celebrity guest picker, disagreed.
“I like Auburn at home, man,” Combs said. “It’s hard to go against the SEC at home, man. I’m going Auburn.”
“I don’t know where you got your information,” Lee Corso responded before picking Penn State.
“Penn State wins because of the defense and the passing game,” Corso said.
Kirk Herbstreit closed it out by making it four picks for Penn State.
“This is one of those games, Week 3, you’re going to learn a lot more about both teams,” Herbstreit said. “We just don’t know. I trust Penn State a little bit more than I do Auburn’s offense. That’s why I’m going to go with (quarterback Sean) Clifford and the balance of Penn State to get it done.”
Penn State-Auburn kicks off at 3:30.
