Lions Defenders Recognized by Big Ten

In what was an up-and-down 7-5 regular season, Penn State’s defense was a constant. Pending the Bowl Game, the Nittany Lions are seventh in the country in scoring defense.

Unsurprisingly, several Nittany Lion defenders were recognized for their success. Defensive end Arnold Ebiketie and safety Jaquan Brisker were both named first-team all-conference by both coaches and media. Linebacker Ellis Brooks and defensive tackle PJ Mustipher– who’s season ended in Week 6 at Iowa– were named to the second team by coaches and the honorable mention squad by the media. Safety Ji’Aiyr Brown, linebacker Brandon Smith and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. were named to the third-team by coaches and honorable mentions by media. Defensive end Jesse Luketa was named to the third team by media and an honorable mention by coaches. Cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields and linebacker Curtis Jacobs were honorable mentions, with Jacobs only being recognized by the media.
