On Tuesday, March 10, the 2026 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament begins inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
The Penn State men’s basketball team will play Tuesday evening at approximately 7:30 p.m. ET against Northwestern.
The game will air live on Peacock.
Penn State enters the tournament as the No. 18 seed and the Wildcats enter as the No. 15 seed.
Both teams are coming off losing their regular season finale.
Northwestern lost to Minnesota March 7 67-66 and Penn State lost to Rutgers March 8 74-62.
Penn State Basketball: Sluggish First Half Prevents Second Half Comeback
The last time these two teams met was January 29 in Evanston, Illinois inside Welsh-Ryan Arena where the Wildcats won 94-73, behind a career-high 34 points from Nick Martinelli.
Penn State was paced by freshman guard Kayden Mingo, who led the team in scoring with 15 points and dished out four assists. Freshman forward Ivan Juric contributed 14 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds, senior forward Josh Reed tallied 11 points with three boards, and redshirt junior guard Freddie Dilione V. rounded out the quartet of Nittany Lions in double figures with 11 points, four rebounds and four assists.
The Wildcats, late in the second half, went on an 11-0 scoring run that proved to be the difference in the regular season contest.
The winner of Tuesday night’s matchup will play No. 10 seed Indiana Wednesday.
