In recruiting news, National Signing Day will look astronomically different for Penn State this season, as only one player is confirmed to sign.
Jackson Ford, a four-star in-state defensive end from Malvern, confirmed with NSN Tuesday night that he plans to sign Wednesday.
There are three other players that are committed to Penn State: four-star safety Matt Sieg (McDonald, PA), four-star LB Terry Wiggins (Coatesville, PA) and three-star CB Amauri Polydor (Baltimore, Maryland).
Sieg is choosing between Pitt, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Indiana, in addition to Penn State. Wiggins is also considering Colorado, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. Polydor is picking between Colorado and Virginia Tech, and told 247Sports his decision “depends largely on if a coach is hired by signing day, and if interim Terry Smith gets the job.”
Penn State still doesn’t have a head coach, and Smith’s future is uncertain.
At one point, Penn State football’s recruiting class had 28 commits, but that all changed when Franklin was fired Oct. 12.
