Penn State Basketball: Mike Rhoades Says ‘Guys Are Starting To Understand Their Roles’

On Saturday, the Penn State men’s basketball team defeated the La Salle Explorers, 83-69, in the Basketball on Broad Autumn Invitational in Philadelphia at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, the home of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Penn State freshman guard, Melih Tunca, was on fire throughout the contest as he scored a game-high 20 points going 8-for-9 from the field and 4-for-4 from 3-point range. The Turkey sensation also dished out four assists. The Nittany Lions used a 20-0 run midway through the first half and ended up shooting a blistering 57.9% from the field and 50.0% from deep. Penn State improved to 4-0 on the season and they keep improving each game as they prepare for Big Ten play in December.

Freddie Dilione V added 16 points, three rebounds and three assists. Freshman, Kayden Mingo, tallied 14 points and a career-best seven assists and four rebounds. Freshman 7-footer, Ivan Juric, also sparked the Nittany Lions with 11 points and a career-high six rebounds.

Head coach Mike Rhoades addressed the media after the game. Take a look.
