Penn State Basketball: Shippensburg Up Next For The Nittany Lions

This Sunday, October 26, the Penn State men’s basketball program will welcome Shippensburg to Happy Valley. The Nittany Lions will tipoff against the Raiders at 2:00 P.M. inside the Bryce Jordan Center. This will be the second and final exhibition game before the regular season begins at home on Monday, November 3 against Fairfield.

Penn State is coming off a 78-62 loss against Dayton in their first exhibition game. Coach Rhoades’ young squad was led by freshman Kayden Mingo and redshirt junior Freddie Dilione V with 16 points apiece. Mingo also dished out a team-high four assists. Senior Josh Reed and freshman Ivan Juric each pulled down a team-high six rebounds. Penn State finished the game with a shooting percentage of 39.3% while the Flyers shot 48.4% from the field.

Shippensburg comes to town led by head coach Chris Fite who enters his 13th season at the helm. The Raiders compete in the Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and went 10-19 overall last season and 7-14 in PSAC play. They return six of their top seven scorers from a season ago, including four of their five starters. Markus Frank headlines the group as he averaged 19.6 ppg. last year while shooting 53.3% from the field.
