Penn State held its largest recruiting weekend ever this past Saturday during the “White Out’ against Oregon, where nearly 250 recruits were hosted.
Early returns are looking favorable, at least by Rivals National Recruiting Director Steve Wiltfong.
Wiltfong’s latest “Fong Bomb” prediction has Owen J Roberts (Pottstown, Pennsylvania) wide receiver Matthew Gregory committing to the Nittany Lions.
Rated as a five-star by the 247Sports Composite is rated as the No. 3 athlete by 247Sports and Rivals No. 4 wide receiver in the Class of 2027.
Last season, Gregory had 1,100 all-purpose yards (850 receiving; 250 rushing), hauling in 48 receptions while having 16 total touchdowns (13 receiving; 3 rushing).
Through his first two games this season for Owen J Roberts, Gregory is averaging nearly 100 receiving yards per game and averaging 27.7 yards per reception.
Currently, Penn State has the top rated recruiting class in the Class of 2027.
Penn State’s commitments include five-star running back Kemon Spell (McKeesport – McKeesport, Pennsylvania), five-star offensive tackle Layton Von Brandt (Appoquinimink – Middletown, Delaware), four-star wide receiver Khalil Taylor (Pine Richland – Gibsonia, Pennsylvania), and four-star cornerback Gabe Jenkins (Imani Christian – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania).
